Accidental Panna Cotta

This was completely made and cooked in the blender, which can generate heat with the friction of the blades on the liquid. I was actually trying to make vanilla pudding, but it ended up being too stiff and gelling like a gelatin-based panna cotta. The cherry sauce is just blended cherries and sugar (but later I added some vitamin C powder because I noticed it oxidizing). Proportions are off - should've been much smaller with more sauce.

Vitamix Cherry Ice Cream

Deal of the year: scored a Vitamix for $300.
Also, the frozen cherries that Costco sells are pretty awesome.

Snack: Cheese Plate

Costco has some great cheese at great prices (like 1/3 the price of grocery). In particular, their parm and gruyere are REALLY good. I've plated them here with pecans, prunes, blackberries and roasted garlic cloves sprinkled with sea salt.

French Toast

This looks yummier than it actually was - but it was still pretty good. I didn't soak the bread for quite long enough and the bread wasn't completely soaked through with custard. Not very healthy, but I had eggs and the bread at costco was fresh so I had bought 2 baguettes.

Apple Crumble Pie

Over-thickened. Also, the pie that I made for mom's birthday had some Spy apples (courtesy of Jen's apple picking excursion). The tart Spies made for a noticeable improvement in the pie.

Berry Smoothie

Still going with the blender. Actually, what I like best is a lot of yogurt and milk, with not too much fruit... it gets all bubbly and frothy. But this is good too.

Mango Ice

I bought a blender, the Ninja Pro something. I wanted a Vitamix, but they're too expensive. This was only 70 bucks and does pretty fantastic ices with frozen mango and yogurt.
